Pinkerton was supposed to be Cuomo's coming of age as a songwriter. Instead, it bombed badly, due to false expectations: no Buddy Holly or Sweater Song in sight, the tunes were yes more adult and "difficult" but still too sentimental for the rock crowd. And it all turned into a Brian Wilsonesque personal hell, documented by the now infamous MySpace confession. All that, all the guilt, all the struggle, for a masterpiece of a second album. How funny.

Devotion (El Scorcho single).
In the aftermath of the Pinkerton's disaster, Rivers has only one goal in mind: he wants to be an MTV darling again. Fame and commercial success will come back but, somehow, he will never be able to write beautiful and moving songs like Devotion again.

I Do (Green Album limited edition).
Another sweet little number from some lost b-side.
