Its like 10 new girls step into porn in St. Petersburg in one month compared to 1 new girls in Buda or Prague !
A few porn girls of Buda or Prague looking really good !
But the mean question still is where porn is dead !

Good porn is nearly dead everywhere, especially in Prague. If it's only quantity, many new girls, cheap porn overflowing the market you search for, then your place is SPB. If you look for really good, hot Europeam porn the last bastion is Buda. But it's more and more difficult to find it.

I'm really suprised that you still think Russian porn is good, gapelover. It's the right place for finding new talents with natural bodies who do all acts imaginable, but what do the companies and directors who are there make of this advantage? They should be ashamed of what they produce.

The only thing that could rescue porn and bring back the quality we had a few years ago is that really good directors will go to SPB. With the regular fees there and girls willing to do nasty acts like DAP, DP, ... directors could produce nasty porn cheaper than in any other town and can absorb the profit they lost from free downloding from the internet. If this didn't happen, then I think that SPB will also be dead in 2 years (and maybe Buda also).

The problem in Dvd's market, in my opinion, is that: there is not space for new cameraman, new director and for new ideas.
Rocco is millioner, what the fucking he care to shoot one set in 10 hours like he did 5 years ago?? He can sell everything becouse is famous (but the quality is still one of the best becouse he works every time with very good actors).
Dvd market is like that: the more big company, with the more biggest name is the top. Small company with good contents can not survive. In internet is different, can survive only who have good contents (LIKE IT MUST BE).
I think I'm one of the last in thet bussines that looks porno movie, and belive me: really often big names are shooting big shit, like in europe as in usa.
Is time that same "Barons" stops to clog the market and gives space for a new generation as has happened 7 or 8 years ago in USA with ex european actors.

Belive me is really frustrating to hear that your content are the top, but you're not famous enough to be able to sign that Dvd's.

I can only speak for myself, and I buy much less porn today than 3 or 5 years ago. Simply because so many produce the same, always the same. It's time for new things!

Basicly I agree with you but I have to be realistic and I say that porn cannot be as creative as the mainstream cinema.
Why? Because is a basic art. Its success is based on the repetition of same acts (but "same" changes along the years) with different talents (directors and actresses/actors).
It is such difficult to create something new that directors can rely only on their skills and those of actresses/actors.
It is hard...even harder than mainstream cinema.
But it entertains much more even if few could admit it.

But porn is not dead. It has become more common and now it is viewed by people of all ages and sex. But this bigger market has tarned a lot creativity and originality. Now there's a constant demand (unfortunately very cheap) for very basic scenes. The only good thing is that even in the most basic scene an expert/connaisseur can still recognize a talent (actress or director...). And this make porn still interesting...even if I can agree that it can be boring.
But for a boring scene you will still find a lot of happy viewers...

That's why I wouldn't be such negative on SPB and Sineplex. Yes, we know they are not so arty...but the numbers of their sites give them reason. After all people like their constant offer of new faces that you can easily find in almost any kind of action.

Saw this thread so i thought i would sign up and chime in............... The reason i did not shoot in St. petersburg when i was there in 06 was because i went there to scout the place first, working for sineplex gave me that opportunity. I saw many good things, and many bad things about shooting there, but would gladly go there to work. I have been unable to go to europe these last couple of years due to some visa issues and have been awaiting a triumphant return to my favourite place to work. Looking at relocating over there next year, either St. pete's, prague, buda, or kyiv. Not sure which at this point is the best for a base of operations.... thoughts anyone. But fear not, i will be back in the saddle of eastern europe by next year.

I cannot wait for that!
As for the place to choose, I see it this way:
SPB: Many negative things about shooting there have remained. But there is such a big talent pool and fees are 3-5 times cheaper than in Budapest... If you are able to put up with the bad stuff there, the place will get better.
Prague: Seems over now. The fees are getting levelled down, which creates some oportunities, though.
Buda: High price, but still high quality. Easy and safe. Fees will come down a bit due to the crisis, too.
Kyiv: Completely new frontier. Prices will be even lower than in SPB and the talent pool even better, but you`ll be the first to seriousely work there.

To EE: forget to mention about St. Peterburg that contrary to 2006 there is no monopoly there anymore - dispite some folks may still claim it. And there are lots of agents offering competitive prices! You just have to take advantage...
