Hmm, I think she has just found a better way to make money. Sure making porn flicks is a great way to make fast money but it has it's bad side too (ie. sex with guys you don't like & STD's).
On cam sites, you don't have to have sex with guys. You do shows just using sex toys. You can work when you want and for how long you want. Unless you work in a studio (but that is another story)
Cam sites usually charge the customers approx' between $3 - $6 a minute of which 40% will go to the model. So, if a model gets one hour of private at $3 a minute, she will make $72. Customers are also allowed to tip models so this can increase significantly.
All that a model is required to do in a private show is to do what the customers ask within the rules of the site. Most times it is either doing a sex show or just talking/typing. It is far easier than spending a day at a porn shoot.
Now, just because a girl has worked in porn does not mean that she will be successfull on cam sites over night (however, it does help). Working on cam sites is more similar to being a stripper than an adult performer. Girls who are good at this know how to treat and turn guys on and make them go private. Whilst girls who take the job for granted seem to find it a lot harder to get guys to go into a private show. It's all about knowing what guys want and being a good actress.
So you see, if you get the formula right then this can be a very profitable business. At the end of your shift you can go home and have no worries and sometimes they will meet nice guys who will throw a lot of money and attention on them.
