Yes, apparently, lol. :?
The Grandhotel Heiligendamm is the most exclusive hotel on Germanys Baltic coast:
http://www.grandhotel-heiligendamm.de/en/home/
A double room at high season costs 185€/night.

And Kurhaus Binz (5 stars superior!) is the most expensive:
http://www.travelcharme.com/en/hotels/kurhaus-binz.html
A double room at high season costs around 220€/night.

It looks like they really rip you off in the Ukraine.

Everyone thinks that Ukraine is a cheap country, but it is not so! And although I live in Ukraine, I must pay this price!
But why do people in Europe want to pay less for the Ukrainian people?
Look at what the price of cars in Ukraine, it is crazy! And housing? Rent? And other services? And the prices in restaurants? I am happy when traveling in Europe, lower prices and better quality in 100 times!

Hmm, I don't know Wiska. A average(!) house costs ~3.000.000 UAH in the Ukraine? A 80qm flat ~6.000 UAH/month to rent? Butter (250g) 8 UAH? I don't think so.
I think what's very expensive in the Ukraine are imported products (like cars), because the UAH became so weak, and luxury goods, since there isn't a lot of competition. Daily needs, like bread, butter, milk or sausages should be cheaper though.

When I was in Lviv (very beautiful town btw.) the hotel was expensive by Ukrainian standards, but cheaper than comparable hotels in Prague or Berlin. Restaurants were on par with Berlin, but cheaper than Prague. Ice, entries or public transport were cheaper too. But any western product I've seen, like washing machines or LCDs, was ridiculously expensive.

PS: I hope the restaurant of this hotel was exquisite? For a hotel like this I expect a cuisine that is worth at least some Gault-Millau stars!

Wiska, you are right. And Karasek also.
People in Europe want to pay less for the Ukrainian people. They dot not want to help Ukraine, but only use it.
They want to keep Ukrainian people poor, because they can make better money with Ukraine. They now buy ukrainian agricultural lands at cheap cost, to grow cereals with cheap local ukrainian employees, and then sell the cereals at high cost on the world market.
Big international organizations like IMF (International Monetary Fund) give credit facilities to Ukraine, but they demand to stop custom protection for ukrainian companies, which cannot compete with foreign companies on the local market. Soon foreign companies take the power and ukrainian companies and activities are ruined.
In the end, ukrainian people can only work with low salaries for foreign companies. And buy imported goods at very expensive cost! This is economic colonialism.

Ukraine is isolated, but Ukrainian people must know that Europe does not care about them. Only big european companies want to make money with Ukraine and keep your country poor.
This "free"economic world is ferocious.
Wiska, you know it ! You the clever beautiful woman.
