Between Yves Ballait, Jean Pierre Armand, Christophe Clark (of yesteryear**), and Jean Yves LeCastel, they were the true originators of "The Gape". Others followed, and others have tried to imitate, but the golden years of porn for us older guys has long since gone. 'G' you know what I'm talking about here.
I waited with cock in hand for every one of the Assman, Debauchery, and Matador Series' to come out. And Christophe if you read this**; "The Euro Angels" series and early "Hardball" series was also a "can't wait to watch" series of paramount quality. The quality of the product that made John's Evil Empire great was evident in the product that you put out. I think today, for some reason porn has changed. It has taken a darker tone. Choking, slapping, and gagging, are the billet of fair these days. And maybe even the girls are different. Our luscious gape queens like Vivi La Roche, Eniko, Katy Heart, and so many others made watching them fun. They seemed to enjoy all of the antics Jean, Pierre, Robert, and others did. One of my favorites of JYLC's was when he did his so called "big budget film" for the now very lame Private Media Group, titled; "Cock O'Neil". The whole soviet state, and dumb guy thing by R. Rosenberg was a gas. Gone are the "Road Trips" that Jean Yves would take us on. Running around the streets of Prague in his worn out Lada. The apartments in the city, and his comedic nature all were captured and made his series timeless. "Ah yes, you like ze dick, No? Maybe friends; we will see if she likes ze dick in ze ass, Yes!! Beeeeaaaaaammmm!" As I posted before, I did indeed meet JYLC a few times and we talked about the industry and how he had seen it change. Gone was the creativity and the passion for producing a body of work. He saw it then and I think all of us are seeing it now. When I had my stores, we took Anabolic's black t-shirts and put BEEEAAAMMM on the backs of them and sold them to our customers that liked our eurobabes and the Assman series. When both of the series ended I saw Anabolic's numbers in my stores drop about 55%. I used to stock the Assman-Debauchery Series about 4 to 6 copies deep for sale and 10 copies for rent. Of course I charged real world pricing for my tapes at $24.99 and not the $69.99 everybody else was. Today the internet has changed all of that. Porn is quick, easy to get and if your into theft, cheap as well.Where does it go from here. Gapeman and I talked recently about supporting the guys that work hard on the net producing quality product. I do all of the time and I don't share on websites or with friends. But I do miss looking through AVN and the new titles from Anabolic, Evil, Sineplex, Tornado and so many others. In Closing lets just say, as a director, actor and all around man with cock will travel about town, Jean Yves Le Castel "Jocelyn" was the stuff legends in this industry are made of. I would nominate him for the AVN Hall of Fame if anyone else would. I salute you my friend, and enjoy Real Estate and retirement!!
