Well, PB was always notorious for the uneven visual quality. Remember the horrible orange era etc? Also worth to keep in mind that Giorgio and the filming team are not responsible for the post process editing and colograding, which is a big part, that's done by PB.
It's very odd that they in all these years have had issues, but not in one single direction indicating that it's because of someones specific preferences. We have had all kinds; overexposed and blown out, grey and dull, orange, oversaturated, undersaturated, restouched and filtered, etc. Anything but just a normal raw clear and and natural image. There's some exceptions here and there over time, but so far these seems to be purely by accident...
It's also odd that the french scenes, whether one like them or not, never was victims of the same unnatural processed colorgrading as the scenes from Madrid.
