But another guy on Sandra's thread said that the notion of these ratings is ridiculous, and I agreed with that, but said how I thought they were calculated, with trying to set an objective basis for assessment.

In VS's case, what made her fall short of the 100 percent rating (enjoyed for instance by Silvia Saint) would be her lack of height, coming in at 5 foot 4 inches, compared to 5 foot 9 inches for Sandra Shine and Silvia Saint.

But it seems that many people in the business might not have thought VS was much good as a pornstar, whereas the viewing public (at least those who voted at Dr. Hardcore) thought she was outstanding.

How much is lack of height a handicap for a porn queen to reach the top ? Do you have to be a tall girl like Silvia Saint to be a superstar ?

VS always had that smile on her during a scene, at least at the cumshot. If she was looking at the monitor all the time, was she overly conscious of how she appeared, and really more interested in that than in what was happening on the set ? It's the director who's usually looking at the monitor.

I reckon VS was okay at porn, but could not compare to someone really good like Maya Gold. I thought VS's enthusiasm was a bit contrived, but Maya's seemed more genuine.

(Maya also has a 90 percent rating, I reckon again falling short of 100 percent for relative lack of height, 5 foot 5 inches.)

All this rating looks a bit fishy to me.

But anyway, I dont think a lack of height makes girls fall short. A lot of porn fans prefer petite girls. Also because the fucking, especially dp/daps, look just harder if the girl is really small. Victoria at 5 foot 5 inches in this terms, however, is wheter small nor tall.


The other thing you point at in many posts is really intriguing: VS seemingly not likeing her job and sex at all in reality, but still looking quite convincing at fucking in those films.

The ratings probably are a bit fishy, but I think they try to do them on an objective basis, like knocking off 10 percent for each imperfection.

But how can Claudia Jamsson, whom many people consider to be one of the most beautiful women (if not the most beautiful) ever to do porn have a rating as low as 80 percent. She is tall enough, 5 foot 8 inches, so a 10 percent reduction might make sense for her small tits, but where is the other 10 percent knocked off.

Also, Sandra Iron's rating is only 70 percent, and she is tall and has okay-sized tits. So does she have a full 30 percent knocked off for extensive body-piercing and tattoes ?

About VS, if she was looking at the monitor all the time, it seems she was conscious of how she might appear to the viewing public and not concentrating so much on what was happening with the sex itself on the set.

For her, it seems, to appear to give a good performance was actually more important than actually giving a good performance, which means she was performing for the viewing public. This would mean her intelligence gave her the ability to act a good sex performance, rather than actually produce one.

There is quite a difference between how she is rated by other professionals in the industry and how she is rated by the viewing public.

There was something about her at Dr. Hardcore that she was thinking of becoming a director. Some ex-porn queens direct. Maybe she would have been better (more highly regarded in the industry) if she had become a director or porn films than a porn actress.

Was her eye always on the camera ? Did she have a good understanding of the technical aspects of film-making and lighting etc ? Was actually fucking a bit beneath her ?

A typical VS performance is she smiles a lot at the beginning and seems to be into it, but in the middle she looks bored, then for the cumshot she smiles again. The bit in the middle might be where she has forgotten she is on camera, and looks bored, and is thinking, what am I doing here ? Yawn, yawn. Then, the cumshot in a minute. At least it will all be over then.
