Was kinda looking for a place to put this thread. I was wondering what in the hell is going on with their (Viv Thomas) production output? It almost seems like they barely release any new films. Anyone know why that is? A few years ago they were releasing multiple titles (1-3)a month..

Viv Thomas somewhat recently addressed this issue/topic on his forum site.

It's not just one thing...I think that it's a number of things that all seem to have hit all at around the same time.

The main thing seemed to be that main creative people/producers left the company to do their own thing elsewhere...and the company
has been trying to play catch up with their production schedules ever since.
New people were brought in..and that didn't quite work out...so even newer people were hired..and I'm not fully up to speed
on what the current production situation is over there at VT.

I am sure that the general sales slowdown in the overall adult entertainment business isn't helping them too much either.

Hi Folks,

Ive just seen a Topic over at LezLove Video, "Big Changes at VivThomas.com" which I felt it needed a response from myself, which I have now done.

For your info I have copied and pasted onto this Forum, which is as follows;

Folks, let's try and clear up a few questions about things at VT.com.

When Lewis and Sean decided to leave us and go back to the UK. it was a very sad day for all of us at VT and without a shadow of doubt a very big blow for us. Lewis and I had worked together for 10 years and he became more of a son to me than my own kids.

Not only that, we developed a style together that had become a trade mark, more than that, VT became the market leaders. Lewis is a brilliant guy and extremely talented, make no mistake about that and when he left we had a huge cavity to fill. I have no doubt that Lewis and Sean will do very will in their new venture and I wish them well.

Anybody who follows us closely will know that I employed 2 guys in their places and so it was back to school for me. I had to try and teach these 2 guys in a very short space of time, what had taken me years and years to teach Lewis and Sean.

Happily Mark is really stepping up to the plate on the Photography side of things and I'm confident that I will be able to leave him on his own quite soon, to do photoshoots without me directing him all the way.

Sadly Aven did not quite step up to our expectations and we have mutually agreed to go our separate ways. On the plus side we have already employed a replacement and he has very quickly slotted into the team. His name is Owen Williams, based locally on The Algarve, he's English and has a very impressive background in mainstream movies and major commercials.

He is already proving to be a great asset and the rest of the guys have welcomed him into the fold. He is currently editing one of our latest movies, filmed by Aven and Hugo. (Hugo is also a new addition to the team as assistant cameraman and editor)

Probably one of the biggest things in his favour is that he loves our movies and has been a fan of the VT lesbian titles for years. He proudly explains that he and his girlfriend have spent many happy hours together enjoying the experience of VT.com.

So sadly you're all right, there has been a distinct lack of new titles coming out of the VT stables. Firstly, I am still teaching the guys about the techniques, styles, call it what you will, the little extremely significant things that set us apart from the rest of the producers. Secondly, if we were to release a title that did not atleast live up to some of the high standards that we have already set for ourselves, you Folks would slaughter us.

I have no doubt that the first few titles that we do release will meet with some considerable criticism from our fans out there, but I would hope that you will all bear in mind, that this new crew have had to try and learn in a matter of months, what took Lewis and Sean years to achieve.

I also not from several postings that there is concern that we'll go back to the typical porn versions of Lesbian Movies, some even expressed concerns that we'll start favouring the Boy/Girl content.

Let me make one thing very clear, we are recognised for our Lesbian content/movies and that's way we intend keeping it.

Yes! for sure we will still produce the odd Hetro title as we do have other clients who require this from us.

To endorse this, here's a list of titles that we will be releasing in the coming months;

The Story of She.

Hot Wet Lesbians.

Simply The Best.

Hot Wet Nymphos.

The Art Of Sex # 2 (A Hetro Title aimed at couples).

What ever we produce our policy remains the same.

"Sex is beautiful, Women should be respected, worshiped and not treated like pieces of meat. Adult Entertainment should be passionate, made with feeling and genuine intimacy".

Hopefully I'll get more time to join you on the Forum and answer any of your questions.

Viv.
