Stefano Masochistico, you appear to be an individual with distinctive, if somewhat eccentric tastes. But your comments regarding the US (and, to a lesser degree, those of several other worthy posters here) strike me as ridiculous, if not idiotic. I really dont want to get personal, but your incessant blaming of the US for all the ills in porn (and everything else) betrays an irrational, almost monomaniacal resentment against something which you cant control.
First of all, we are discussing here a girl who
didn't even get implants, Belicia, a Czech now based in Italy, it appears. Secondly, the eurobabes that do have the surgery, make that decision themselves. Nobody forces them, not the doctors, producer-directors, the CIA etc. (OK, occasionally they are pressured or convinced by some Svengali who's manipulating their careers, it's true.) But in most cases it's there own insecurity with their natural bodies and/or greed for more lucrative work that motivates them. If they do it with the specific intention to tap the US market, as
may have been the case, in part, with Aletta/Doris and many others in the past, well that's their career decision. (Look at Larissa Dee, Angie Heart etc, who didn't. They are doing just fine in the int'l market as far as i can tell.) It's their bodies, and they'll live with the consequences. Our regrets as fans are hardly important in the end.
The porn industry drives a lot of girls to do things with themselves which may not be the healthiest choices or have the most aesthetically pleasing results... It utterly dumbfounds me whenever i hear some eurobabe (or american girl, for that matter) say they idolize someone like Jenna Jameson. They believe she represents a model of success in this world. But even smart girls who are ambitious (& perhaps somewhat feckless) are tempted by the potential for fame which show biz promises. Well, at least we now have someone like Sasha Grey, who's taking the porn route to entirely new destinations.
Your attitude towards porn seems excessively distorted by your ideological animus toward the US. Of course, the US culture industry in general and the entertainment business in particular have attained excessive power as "globalization" has taken hold. I personally deplore much of it. (If i had an EU passport, i'd prefer to live in Europe myself.) But we all have to live with it to some degree, whether it's porno, music, fashion or food. But the culture which you loathe is in fact largely your own, a generalized Western culture in which Europe and the States share more than they differ. The Europe vs US
Kulturkampf is largely a red herring. Of course, there are important cultural & political differences worth disagreeing about. Every individual on both sides of the Atlantic must strive to develop and use their critical faculties and learn how to resist or at least cope with the vulgarity and repression of post-modern western society.
I may sound overly defensive or self-righteous, but it's my own guilty conscience and hypocrisy that i'm really contending with
