Unfortunately its true what have been said about Czech situation.
Its unbelievable - Czech among Buda has been always one of the porn kingdoms.

But yeah, still new girls are appearing at agencies, but their work are shattered into a lot of small budget productions, website projects, etc.

Really sad!
But I still wonder how this could happen? And wheter the Prague biz itself killed their chances? Or it was an action of the autorities against porn?

When his agency and the rest of his comany fell, others - who probabely hoped to take part of his biz over - started to tumble. And a vicious downward circle began.

I would say that is a very fair representation man, well at least I agree that the factors that you have pointed out are all contributing to some degree.

However I would like to think more positively to try and think of ways in which we can help to bring the business back at least to its feet in Prague? Like I have said, there are great girls and it is a great central european destination to shoot.

I wonder what steps, if any will help change the current situation then?

I always try my best to help my foreign contacts find girls and encourage them to come into europe to shoot but it is right what you said that if they want to go anywhere then Budapest is towering over Prague in many aspects 'at the moment'. Models. even czech ones are here, the currency exchange is slightly more favored towards the pound and dollar and also there is a larger selection of locations to shoot in, catering from studio and feature productions to gonzo and amateur.

From my opinion there also isnt even much drive from the czech based companies to fix this and so this is what leads me to believe that it is first and foremost the rate of the Korun that is the biggest problem?

Yes I agree with dap-addict's aspects too. I would only definitely exclude the "authorities against porn" factor. At least for Czech, I think in Czech there is quite big tolerance against this kind of business regarding authorities.

But those other things all together formed the current downward situation.

Speaking of Robert Rosenberg, this week was the legal process with him and his wife, he was charged of four criminal acts , human trafficking, pimping, spreading veneral desease and manufacturing and dealing drugs . Next week the court have to judge. But I wanted to point out that this also make the situation worse because Robert brought really a lot of girls to the business over past years.
Thankfully his agency is still up n running.

The people also changed their minds over past ten years, made their living better, better opportunities etc...all this things count.

Keni, I agree with you that also the companies are not trying their best to make this downfall better. I can notice that on the Prague erotic fairs.
Im really afraid how will be this year's fair - if not the last.
I had an idea for the exhibiting agencies to promote this businnes better, ie. to use the porn stars and girls to talk with the people, to bring their work really to the public...you know some information stands etc.

How can we make this situatuation better? Yeah those who can help (mostly insiders), might spread some effort in particular, but globaly it will depend on current local ecomony, current dollar/euro - local currencies ratio, us economy, society view upon this business, attitude, media support etc..

From what I was reading in the news about the "Rosenberg trial", the court dropped all charges on human trafficking, spreading a veneral desease and procuring prostitution. Robert was sentenced to one year probation for possession of cocaine. So, things seem to ease a bit in Czech and I am looking forward to watch his performance during this year's erotic fair in Prague.

About steps to change the situation: I think Prague has to become attractive for producers again. The high korun and generally high production costs - due also as Mr. Peter pointed out growing living standard - are a big problem for Prague. One possibility is to offer a better value for the price (thinking amongst others of the 2007 Czech crop dap-able girls in the face of a lack of dap rookies in Budapest), the other is to lower the production costs.
I think a combined appoach would be best. And there is one thing I am wondering about for a long time already: There are so many Ukrainians living and working in Prague and Czech, but no Ukrainian porn girls! Why? If it is possible to gat visas for Ukraininan construction workers, than i`t should also be possible to get them for their younger sisters, no?
I dont want to lower any fees for the real professionals, but they would do it for less and bring a fresh breeze into the Prague biz. This combined with a better value for booking local girls should reverse the trend!
